Some Ghanaians on social media, specifically X (formerly Twitter) have labelled Stephen Appiah's intention to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat in the 2024 elections as a 'waste of money'.

The former Black Stars skipper is reportedly set to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency seat in the upcoming general elections.

While some Ghanaians were surprised by Appiah's political ambitions, others shot down his chances of winning, claiming it would be a waste of his money.

According to the spokesperson for the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie, the former Juventus star will compete for the seat as an independent Parliamentary candidate.
