National Chairman of the opposition Peoples National Convention (PNC) Bernard Mornah has stated that the president failed to talk about how the currency is depreciating as compared to other currencies in the world during his third State of the Nation address.
Bernard Mornah explained that the outlook of the currency cannot be discounted when addressing Ghanaians on the State of The Nation. ‘’ you can’t talk about the state of the Nation without talking about the depreciation of the currency. The president was very strategic of talking about how fast our cedi is depreciating against major currencies in the world.’’ He stated.
The chairman noted that with some of the things the president said during his delivery it appears that the President does not intend action but rather spoke about the two main political parties who are the bedrocks of vigilantism in our political landscape in order to meet and deal with the matter of vigilantism and how it can be curtailed.
Mr. Mornah added that obviously the president could have initiated the meeting of the parties before even coming to parliament so that in coming to parliament he will just announce to parliament the steps he has taken in other to put a stop to vigilantism in the country.
