Nana Ofori Owusu, Chairman of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), has slammed the Electricity Company of Ghana for refusing to give Ghanaians a load-shedding timetable.

The nation is saddled with electricity challenges as Ghanaians face power cuts on almost daily basis.

There are many communities that for the past weeks, have been plunged into deep darkness due to the ECG's inability to supply electricity.

However, there is no power schedule to tell the electricity users when to expect their lights to go off.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Monday morning, Nana Ofori Owusu told the Ministry of Energy and the electricity suppliers, particularly ECG, they are solely responsible for the plight of Ghanaians as a result of the power cuts, locally referred to as "dumsor".

He reminded the ECG of how they are affecting businesses, stressing that "businesses are collapsing."

The PPP Chairman warned the electricity suppliers against their refusal to provide a timetable to help Ghanaians plan their lives.

"We need direction. Leaders must come and tell us directions. You are there; you are accountable to the people. You have collected our money. We pay taxes. You owe it to us to make sure we have lights. You are not doing us any favour...This thing is becoming unbecoming!" he exclaimed.
