A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere-Darko has admonished Former President, John Dramani Mahama to desist from misleading Ghanaians with his numerous lies, the kind that landed him in opposition.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr. Otchere Darko projected a subtle message;
“When you get the opportunity to be PRESIDENT and you MISLEAD the people, don’t try to MISLEAD them with LIES when you return into OPPOSITION. You MISSED your chance”.
Prior to this, Former President, according to a report by rainbowradionline, said during a courtesy call by executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), that the rejection of some key recommendations of the Justice Emile Short Committee Report by government, is an indication of government’s approval of the lawless assault on innocent civilians.
Mr. Mahama argued that the actions of government provides a sinister premonition of future attacks by government-trained thugs, targeted at the government’s political opponents. He said there was evidence that the government is training ‘able-bodied’ civilians at to perpetrate violence during the general elections.
“It is a worry that Ayawaso West Wuogon will be repeated on a larger scale than it did. This was only a by-election but the way things are going and from what we are hearing, it is possible that some sinister force is preparing to wreak violence during the (general) elections and this is something that we must look at.”
