Your work is crucial in the fight against fraud – EOCO boss to certified fraud examiners

Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has acknowledged the key role certified fraud examiners play in the fight against fraud and corruption in the country.

For her, the work certified fraud examiners do is crucial in protecting organizations, communities and individuals from the destructive impact of fraud.

Speaking at the 2024 launch of the Annual National Conference of the Association of Chartered Fraud Examiners (ACFE), COP Addo-Danquah praised members of the association for their dedication, commitment and expertise which are critical and protecting institutions and ensuring that the country is stable.

“I want to start by acknowledging the crucial work that you do in the fight against fraud. Your dedication and expertise are essential in protecting organizations, communities, and individuals from the devastating impact of fraud," she said.

"As we all know, fraud and corruption are pervasive issues which pose significant threats to the stability and integrity of organizations and societies worldwide,” she added.

She added that given the devastating effects of fraud and the increasingly sophisticated ways fraudsters operate, certified fraud examiners and all others involved in the fight against fraud and corruption must collaborate and cooperate to be able to tackle the menace effectively.

“It[ the fight against fraud] requires our collective efforts to stay ahead of the fraudsters and protect the integrity of our institutions,” she explained.

The Ghana Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners(ACFE) is a professional body, representing and governing fraud examination professionals in Ghana.
