A youth leader at Asikuma in the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa constituency of the Central Region, Eric Kwesi Taylor, has condemned the Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji Kobina Ghansah, for a comment he [the youth leader] considers irresponsible.
The MP, in an interview, called on Allah to curse him if he received and sold security services slots as alleged by his detractors.
But Eric Kwesi Taylor claimed that the MP in one of his usual community engagement at Breman Nwomaso about a month ago, made a bluff that 'I had slots to take people to security services.'
He believes that the legislator's comments do not reflect the integrity of a responsible leader.
The youth leader, on behalf of the people of Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa constituency, is calling on the MP to retract his statement, or face their wrath.
"We are giving him a period of two weeks to do so, or we shall demonstrate against his position as MP and his candidature for election 2024.
"There has been many and several public humiliations in Parliament and other public spaces for which he disgraced the AOB constituency, and that has affected the development of our constituency. An example is the matter of his organised demonstration against the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, where he organised young men and women to insult the President.
"We can't take this again from the MP, and for that matter, he should apologize to the chiefs and the people of AOB Constituency," a statement signed by Eric Kwesi Taylor said.
Eric Kwesi Taylor, who is the Chief Executive Penyman Foundation, added, "I want to tell Alhaji Kobina Ghansah that some of us who are not in government have been able to secure security services jobs for some NDC party members in the constituency for free.
"There are ordinary people in Ghana who applied and got recruited without any political link or otherwise. If indeed Alhaji Ghansah wants to prove himself innocent of this allegation, he should rather send his accusers to court before the 2024 election so we can be certain with the facts."
