Youths urged to Observe Valentine's Day in Church

rather than Engaging in Immoral Activities

By Joseph Kobla Wemakor

The Youth Leader of the church of Pentecost, John McKeon Temple, Korlegono, Mr. Cephas Agbozo has appealed to the youths to consider spending the Valentine's Day in church worshiping and singing praises to God instead of engaging themselves in immoral activities which will eventually destroy their life and ruin their future.
According to him, Valentine's Day is a day of love for marriage couples to express love and affection to each other but is not meant for the youths to engage in immoral ventures.

He said ''As youths, we need to dedicate our time in worshipping and singing praises to God on a day like this, instead of engaging in sexual immoralities" he stated.
He made this remark on the eve of Valentine's Day in Church during the Music Festival event organized by the Youth Ministry of the Church of Pentecost at Korle-gono, a suburb of Accra and the Royal Nana Perbi Outreach

The festival is on the theme, "Time in his Presence" which is carefully selected from the Bible from the book of psalm 84 verse 10; which says "A day spent in the presence of God is better than thousand days spent somewhere.
Speaking in an interview with Joy news, Cephas Agbozo, also an elder of the church of Pentecost noted the Music Festival event was initiated by the church on the evening of the Valentine's Day to bring the youth together to church to worship God and listen to his word instead of allowing them to be loose, roaming the streets and engaging themselves in immoral activities all in the name of Valentine's Day celebration.

''We've realized that the youths are gradually drifting away and joining the marriage couples in doing things they aren't supposed to do so we advise that we engage the youth during times like these so they can do something fruitful to the Glory of God, If we don't do that, they go out there and do whatever they like and the consequences are what we see in our society" he explained.

Nana Adjei Perbi, budding Gospel artiste and the President of the Royal Nana Perbi Outreach Ministry led the worship and praises songs session with captivating live performances with the atmosphere fully charged causing the youth jumping, singing joyously and dancing with their feet to the melodious rhythms amidst drumming to the glory of God.

There were other activities like song ministration, poetry recitals, choreography and drama keeping the show ablaze and lively as the youth dance and enjoy the presence of God.

In attendance were 200 youths and elders from the church.
