The documents covering the details of a sponsorship agreement between the Ghana Football Association and Zylofon Cash worth $10 million has vanished from the office of the GFA, MyNewsGh.com has learnt.

The Normalization Committee forensic audit team reviewing contracts have said they are unable to find those documents relating to the Zylofon deal in particular.

A respected authority on Ghana Sports who is also ATINKA Media Head of Sports, Saddick Obama confirmed the story.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in May 2018 signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Zylofon Cash, to become the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

At a very colourful ceremony at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, the three-year sponsor-less spell of the GPL, was finally broken by Zylofon Cash as they sealed a deal with the GFA for an undisclosed fee. It was later revealed the amount was $10 million— 2 million dollars per year for 5 years.

Speaking at the event, Executive Officer of Zylofon Group, Nana Appiah Mensah highlighted the prowess Ghana has attained in the area of football and how this step by the company would help develop local football.

“Ghana is known in the world over for our football prowess more than that of our cherished cash crops like cocoa, pineapple and other mineral resources which includes gold, bauxite among others. It is very pivotal as a country that we replenish the area of football, which is the heart of the country.

“We at Zylofon think that football has such power to transform the lives of youth in Ghana which strongly aligns with our groups’ mantra ‘Ghana shall prosper’. As such Zylofon Cash has taken the decision to be the headline sponsor of the GPL for the next five years,” he announced.

Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi, then president of the GFA, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Zylofon Group for the bold step to salvage the GPL.
