SC Judge called for support for Christian youth

Koforidua, March 26, GNA - Mrs Justice Sophia Adinyira, a Supreme Court Judge, on Sunday has called for support for the youth in the church to enable them play the role expected of them. He told the youth that one of the greatest gifts that God has given them was the ability to enjoy pleasure but advised them that they should do so to bring glory and pleasure to God.

Mrs Justice Adinyira who is also the Diocesan Counsellor of the Anglican Church, was speaking at the launch of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Youth Ministry of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church at the St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral at Koforidua. She urged the youth to always remember the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to undertake evangelism to win more converts for the church.

In a sermon Very Rev. Joseph Sam-Binney, Dean of the Cathedral, advised the youth against using methods outside the established institutions of the church in fighting for their grievances. He urged them to join the priesthood while they are still young and should not wait till when they were old and about to die before offering their service to God and advised them against drinking of alcoholic beverages and smoking.

The Diocesan President of the Youth Ministry, Mr Mark Ofosu, expressed his appreciation to the former leadership of the Youth Ministry for the role they had played to bring the Ministry to where it had reached. He said the tenth anniversary celebration that would be climaxed in August at Akosombo would be used to create awareness of the role of the youth in evangelism.
