What nonsense is that suggestion that MPs should have retirement benefits? Mps are not guaranteed to be at their positions until they retire. Some serve only one term while others may serve years while attaining the retirement age but do not retire .How do you pay an MP who is just 40 years who served only one term ? What about the ex-gratia? Even if they must have retirement benefit, it must be based on the number of years served in parliament and not the age because some MPs don’t necessarily get to their retirement age and are out of parliament. This is just another scheme for MPs to milk the system. If they never had this system in place since independence , then why now .

And I can bet that if this stupidity is approved, a one term mp of only four years will earn pension far higher than that of a civil /public servant who spent 35 years and over. Thieves and criminals calling themselves MPs. Tweeea.

Why are our politicians always pass laws that favor them and their families ? Ayariga doesn’t deserve anything better In the House of Parliament . Upon all that you have been taking and all that you will take home after service, you are still not satisfied . You want more . How can we move our beloved country Ghana forward to compete with other countries ? You don’t pay rent , electricity bill , water bill, fuel , maintenance fee and V8 as well . Yet you will take exgratia . I don’t see any wisdom in your proposal . Do you think MPs are the only people contributing to the development of our country or most important personalities in this country ? How many people go on pension with the money you take as exgratia ? Some people will serve thirty or more years and will take less than One hundred -fifty thousand GH Cedis home . Who are you and how dare you ? Your proposal is out of human sense . You need to redefine your mind .

This Ayariga boy is going to be a BIG problem for the NDC and the desire of Mahama to TRIM and PROTECT state coffers. He seems a pioneer in the attitude of MPs to see and treat themselves as special breeds and class apart. It is unfortunate this is one of the FIRST issues on his agenda as Majority Leader. Even the issue of Old Pensioners who have been robbed off their life savings under the Akufo Addo govt hasn't been addressed. An issue he and his colleagues contributed to due to parliamentary inactivity. And one of the first thing he is pushing for is a pension scheme for them jackasses that are paid GRATUITIES after leaving office. These people COLLECT $100,000 CAR 'LOANS' every 4yrs whilst in office and collect other benefits BUT only shows up for 'WORK' when they please? Where is the extra money coming from for a BROKE ASS COUNTRY? THE NDC BETTER START LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR THIS LITTLE PUNK WITH A CORROSIVE SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT!

"Pension Scheme for retired MPs"
I think it is time Ghanaians learnt to choose the right and patriotic citizens, rather than self seekers to govern our country.
It is really sad that in less than 30 days in office, when the government is still trying to settle itself and assess the development problems of the country, Ayariga is proposing a "Pension Scheme for retired MPs" because something like that exist in UK.
Why is he not proposing a Social Welfare Scheme which also exist in the UK to benefit people of the country who need social support?
It is really painful when people kill themselves to elect people into government to represent their selfish interest. ANYWAY!
