Recent news made headlines in various portals accusing Gabriel Adovoe Kwabla Kwamigah, popularly known as Tanko Kwamigah, an aspirant for the Volta Regional Member at the Council of State, of facing various charges in court while seeking a position in government.
The allegations of criminal involvement have been discredited by a formal court ruling exonerating him of any wrongdoing.
A court document (Suit No. A7/80/2024, dated 3rd April 2024) unequivocally states that Kwamigah has been discharged of all allegations brought against him.
The ruling, signed by Her Worship Anna A. A. G. Anaafi Gyasi (Mrs), specifically notes that the decision to discharge him was based on the advice of the then Attorney General, further reinforcing his legal innocence.
“WHEREAS the above-named case having come before this Honourable
Court for hearing ard determination.
“AND UPON HEARING the submissions of Inspr. Luke Taylor for the Republic led by Emma Messiba Esq., and Dr. Maurice Ankrah Esq., Counsel for Accused Person herein.
“IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Accused Person is discharged based on the advice of the Attorney General,” part of the court papers said.
This court decision invalidates all previous insinuations and accusations aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
Contrary to the information being propagated, Kwamigah is not battling multiple criminal cases per the court ruling.
He has been legally absolved of any wrongdoing, making the claims against him not only misleading but also undermining his political journey.
According to him, these attempts to link him to fraudulent activities, including the MenzGold scam, are fabrications designed to derail his legitimate bid for the Council of State.
