This National Education Forum will not be different from the Consultative Assembly that wrote the current Constitution that was purposely written to appease Rawlings. The same results will happen to allow NDC destroy FSHS.

You're right. Mahama and his NDC said from day 1 that they would cancel Free SHS if they won power. In 2016 they run print, radio and tv adverts to try and stop the implementation of free SHS. At another time, the current vice president said that Category A schools must be exempted from the free SHS. At another time, Seth Terkper also said that free SHS should cover only Day Students. This so-called forum is only trying to find a nice way of either cancelling the entirety of the policy or stopping the wards of poor people from enjoying free SHS. Meanwhile, the current president, his siblings and many of his current ministers all benefitted from free SHS by virtue of the fact that they were from the northern part of Ghana. They don't want others to benefit from free SHS so majority of Ghanaians will remain illiterate to be manipulated.

I am glad that this initiative of reforming our educational system is coming on at this point in time. We have relied and emphasized on grammar education for far too long. Now the emphasis should be on skills development. Pupils and students should be encouraged to develop their God given talents in the sciences and technology. There are so many examples of young talented boys and girls who have demonstrated that given the right guidance and support they can invent or create a lot of things to improve our lot as a people. The Chinese and other nationals have done it, so we too can do it through proper education. It is now time for Ghanaians to stop emphasizing and glorifying paper qualification at the detriment of the ability to produce things out of natural talent. Of course there are thousands of PhD holders in this country but most of them have not contributed anything significant to our national growth than speaking the Queen's language adeptly while they cannot read or write their own mother language nor even know an iota of their history.
