Indigenous African languages are useless in a complex world of business and technology. French and English languages have in common a countless number of vocabularies at higher levels, making assimilation of the French language easy if you get over fundamental stages, yet French struggles to catch up with English in informatics and computer science domain.
When you watch for instance, Twi, Ewe and Ga, they're structured in the same way, making their development very difficult if stretch it and want adaptation with Indo-European languages. Certain things don't have names in our languages. Instead, we use descriptions to designate them and we lack basic language root "tools" to make creating names of things difficult.
In comparison, English is so versatile you can create you own names or words that may be acceptable in the context within which you designate them, and they'd be immediately understood.
I keep thinking about what would have been the development level of our languages had the British not set foot in Ghana. The answer may be difficult or farfetched, but I am sure the interaction between our languages might ensure the development of common words.
Twi is certainly a bit more developed than Ewe and Ga, and might probably have led the way in terms of development however, what's undermined our linguistic development efforts is the capability of Africans to develop exceedingly too many dialects and languages within a defined historical embodiment like Ghana which has over 70 dialects/languages. They were 85, some must have gone extinct as some ethnicities have disappeared with time. Nigeria alone has over 500 languages!
Compare this to France, England, Denmark, Italy where the whole country may have just one, two or three. One therefore understands why unity and social development in those countries are light-years away from African countries where ethnocentric problems are very common.

France is a brutal coloniser, which is being rejected in francophone countries... Yet, thanks to corrupt Akuffo Addo (a French puppet), here we are in Ghana, embracing their language as if English (another colonial language) is not enough.
It's 2025 and we are still mentally enslaved to the white man. Sad!
