Send then to designated places for further dispatch to do national duties that will benefit society. Use them as operators to generate money for community before deportation.

Punishment before repatriation, this is how criminals are treated. These foreigners were not illegally living in Ghana, they had the permits and have committed crime against the people of Ghana. So, just deportation isn’t the solution. We need Justice not show. What do you do with the Ghanaians who were also arrested alongside with the foreigners? Are you going to punish them or deport them to BANANA REPUBLIC?
Please don’t disgrace president Mahama and the NDC at large. We are strong supporters of NDC abroad and we know what is it. Please leave the IGP and the courts to do their job, Mr Muntaka. Repatriation for polluting our water bodies without a legal punishment? You are joking Mr minister.

Is just repatriation enough? I think there must be some form of punishment as well as our borders are porous to serve as a deterrent.
Use their seized equipment to set up jobs that will benefit society and deport them after.
1. Seized the equipment
2. Jail them
3. Desilt choked gutters or where excavators and other equipment are needed to offer real support to communities by using their own operators instead of burning them.
Farms, tree planting, fish ponds, irrigation, construction of gutters etc.
4. Recycling parts of equipment that cannot be used to generate some money etc.

Is that a punishment to deter others from entering the country and engage in Galamsey, the solution is on how we dealt with them at least, they should be prosecuted jailed. After serving their sentence, they should also be documented through Bi- metric before they're being Deported to their various countries with 10 years Waiver on their head, which means they can come back to the country by sending a petition to our Immigration Court, and when the court sit on the Petition the National Intelligence Bureau, will do diligent Investigation by checking to find out the years that foreigner was in the Country before he or she was deported, did they paid Tax to the Government or did the person have or involved in any criminal offense. So if all these investigations come clean then they can be allowed back into the country through the approval of the court, but.if the background checks proofs otherwise then the Petition will be denied. So what the Interior Minister is telling the IGP is not the way to go, Look at the mess Galamsey is causing the, country and just arrest them and Repatriate them to their countries of origin, that's not punishment, so Muntaka come again.
