It's so sad we fail to give recognition and honor to female achievers in this part of the world. This attitude speaks volumes about what chauvinistic Ghanaian men think about women here in Ghana. Whether we like it or not when women do well everyone does well so we're better off championing the cause of women. There's wisdom in Dr Kwegyir Aggrey's famous quote: "When you educate a man you educate just one person but if you educate a woman you educate a whole nation". Much has changed since Dr Aggrey made this statement but its validity remains intact. Without our hardworking Ghanaian women our economy would be in a great depression or to put it more bluntly economic activity would have already come to a grinding halt. Women have always proven to be better managers of the economy, whether household or national. It's said that "when the head moves the rest of the body moves". Chauvinistic Ghanaian men would be doing ourselves a lot of good to also admit and understand that when women move the entire nation follows or in other words where women succeed everyone else succeeds. Go to Makola Market and you'll know who controls your economy. Women naturally have charity and compassion which makes them better managers.
