The head pastor of Believers House of Worship International, Apostle Abraham Lamptey, has taken a swipe at the Christian Council of Ghana for failing to react to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ‘you don't vote for me’ comments to victims of the flood caused by the spillage of the Akosombo and the Kpong dams in the Volta Region.
Apostle Lamptey said that the comments made by the president were unfortunate and it is sad that the moral society is not calling it out.
The pastor, who made these remarks while addressing his congregation in a video shared on social media on October 19, 2023, indicated that Akufo-Addo’s remarks were unpresidential and must be condemned.
“... I’m saddened by what is going on. The Christian Council is quiet. I’m a Christian so I would say Christian Council, do I even belong to that? The Peace Council is quiet.
“When your stomach leads you, your destination would be the toilet. You can imagine God saying, excuse my language, because our brothers and sisters who are in Islam are not Christians so he would not supply them with the air to breathe.
“Would we have people to win for him?,” he asked.
He added that Ghanaians who fail to speak up against the evils in the country are endangering Ghana’s future.
