Dr Kofi Amoah has taken a swipe at the Ghanaian media over their reportage of the 100,000 dollar payment he made to the lawyer who masterminded the payment of a $1m debt owed the football association by telecommunication giants Globacom.

News of the payment of the said amount went viral on Thursday with some media outlets alleging that the president of the Normalization Committee had pocketed the money.

Some also accused him of conflict of interest as the lawyer whose services were engaged to retrieve the debt was his personal lawyer.

In an interview with Atinka FM, Kofi Amoah bemoaned what he perceives to be lack of professionalism exhibited by the media.

He lamented that instead of Ghanaians praising the lawyer whose name has been given as Frank Davies, they are rather chastising him.

"In Ghana here when you do something that should be commended they want to turn it around, we have to stop these things. You media people have to stop these things."

"We need to engage our media people and make them know that you got to do your work in a way that will help the progress of the society. There's this thinking that everybody is corrupt, when you are killing yourself for your nation. Not everyone in the country is corrupt”.

"As a matter of fact the lawyer who succeeded in collecting this money must be commended. Where somebody positive has been done, then we want to castigate the person for doing the right thing."

Glo signed an agreement with the GFA in 2008 to sponsor the Ghana Premier League for five years.

Halfway through the contract, Glo unilaterally pulled the plug on the deal with no specific reason given to the FA.

The FA have since been in and out court fighting the ‘unlawful’ termination of the contract.
