Cape Coast, May 25, GNA - Mr Samuel Valis Akyianu, Ghana's former Ambassador to the Czech Republic, was among 20 personalities honoured by the Oguaa 'Indoor Games Federation' for their immense contribution to activities of the federation and sports development in the area. Mr. Akyianu donated a trophy while the others had contributed either in kind or cash for the upkeep of the federation, and were all presented with certificates of honour.
Speaking at an awards night at the Savoy Hotel in Cape Coast, Mr Muniru Arafat Nuhu, the Municipal Chief Executive also commended Mr Twintoh Walker, founder and Chairman of the Federation for his initiative and appealed to the members to organise periodic clean up campaigns to help keep the municipality tidy.
Also at the ceremony, 'Messiah Cards club' which emerged the league champions last year, was presented with a cash prize of 150,000 cedis, 'Brighter cards club' received 120,000 cedis for placing second while the 'Be There cards club' recieved 100,000 cedis for placing third. The event was sponsored by Savoy hotel, Unilever Ghana limited, Elmina Beach Resort, GIHOC distilleries and Radio Central.
