2011 SIC/SWAG H.P. Nyemitei match Cup fixed for June 26

Accra, June 10, GNA - The first leg of the 2011 SIC/SWAG H.P. Nyemitei Cup match between League champions, Berekum Chelsea and Kumasi Asante Kotoko will honoured at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on Sunday, June 26,.

A statement issued by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, (SWAG) organisers of the match, said the two clubs have given their commitment to the match, whilst the necessary arrangements have been made for a successful match.

It said contrary to speculations that the match will clash with the finals of the MTN FA Knock-out competition, the Association has been able to reach a consensus with all the stakeholders hence the match will come on as scheduled.

According to the statement, the Association will soon announce to the public further details on the match with regards to security arrangements and gate fees among others.

Chelsea became the second Club in Ghana to break the duo-poly of Hearts and Kotoko in the premiership, by winning the 2010/2011 premiership. Kotoko on the other hand, though started the league on a slow note, came back strongly in the second round and managed to end up among the best four Clubs of the season.

The two clubs are expected to sell out to soccer fans an exciting and competitive match as they battle for the SIC/SWAG H.P. Nyemitei trophy. The second leg of the competition will be arranged later after further consultations with the stakeholders.
