The 2014 Cowbell National Cycling Tour of Ghana starts from May 4, 2014 to May 17, 2014.
According to the sponsors and organisers, Promasidor Ghana Limited and the Ghana Cycling Federation, the Tour of Ghana will for the first time by run on international lines as at least five clubs from other African countries will participate.
Promasidor Ghana Limited (PGL), in partnership with Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), National Sports Authority (NSA) and Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) partnered by some committed media organisations and sports journalists have been creating awareness on Cycling as a sport, entertainment, leisure and business activity.
The fourth edition of the cycling tour will see cycling clubs coming from countries such as Kenya, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast and Nigeria compete against 7 Ghanaian cycling clubs.
According to the PRO of the GCF Dennis Moore, two professional cyclists would represent from all these 12 teams to battle for the ultimate price at stake.
Prosper Agbo of City Migro Cyling Club defeated two-time champion Henry Tetteh Djangmah of Die Hard Cycling Club and Samuel Anim of Young Stars to emerge as the overall winner of the Yellow Jersey (ultimate jersey) in last edition of the tour. Osu based All Stars were declared the best club and they featured the youngest cyclist.
The grand launch of the fourth edition takes place on April 16, 2014 at the La Palm Beach Hotel.
