Black Stars striker Majeed Waris says Ghana will beat the United States of America when the two sides meet at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil later this year.
Ghana, who got to the quarter-finals at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, have been drawn in a daunting group at the World Cup in Brazil against European powerhouses Germany and Portugal, as well as USA. But Waris, who has scored 4 goals in 9 appearances for the national team, is confident that Ghana will beat the USA in their group opener.
“I don’t think they have a chance of getting a win against us," Waris told FourFourTwo in an interview.
“We will fight for what we want. I think we are going to beat them [USA] - it won’t be easy, but we will win. It won’t be a big scoreline.”
Ghana have never lost to the United States at any level.
