2014 World Cup: Konadu off to inspect Ghana's camping bases

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has dispatched his assistant Maxwell Konadu to make a final check on the team’s intended camping sites in the Netherlands and the USA ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars will travel to Rotterdam on May 25 to begin residential camping ahead of their third successive appearance at the finals in Brazil.

The team will stay in Rotterdam until June 1 when they move camp to the USA.

Ghana will take on the Netherlands in their first pre-World Cup friendly on May 31 and will play another one during their time in the US before leaving for Brazil.

Coach Appiah however wants to ensure that everything is in place ahead of the team’s arrival hence sending his assistant over to run a final check.

“I have sent Maxwell [Konadu] to Holland and then to the US to check on wherever we are going to train and lodge,” Appiah disclosed to Allsports.

“All these things are very important. We need to be 100 percent sure that we don’t have any problems with these facilities.”

Ghana is aiming at going at least one better than the quarter final feat chalked four years ago in South Africa.

The Black Stars must however do it the very hard way having been drawn in a tough group including Germany, Portugal and the USA.
