The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League is set to kick start by the middle of February 2018 according to reports in the local media.

The domestic top-flight ended two weeks ago crowning Aduana Stars as champions after a stupendous season, amassing an enviable 57 points in the process.

Numerous concerns have been raised days after Aduana Stars’ coronation clash with Berekum Chelsea over when the next season will commence since 2018 will be a World Cup year.

But reports in the local media have it that the Chairman of the Premier League Board Ashford Tetteuy Oku has revealed the league will return in the middle of February.

The Ghana FA is expected to go to Congress later this month to approve the official date for the commencement of next season’s league.

The PLB has already announced the date for the registration of players while club wait anxiously for the official date for the commencement of the league.

Following their championship status, Aduana Stars will be representing Ghana in next year’s CAF Champions League competition while Asante Kotoko plays in the CAF Confederation Cup for winning the FA Cup.

Clubs are currently on break and will resume later this month for pre-season exercise.

Karela United, Dreams FC and Techiman Eleven Wonders are the newly-promoted sides who will be playing in the Ghana Premier League next season while Tema Youth, Great Olympics and Bolga All Stars have been relegated.
