The new logo for the 2017/18 National Women’s League has been launched.

The new design was unveiled at the ceremony which was held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on Wednesday, April 4.

The event was attended by President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, the Managing Director of Fresh Pack, Nana Ofori Owusu, the vice chairman of the Women’s League Boards and bigwigs from the football fraternity.

The tournament which kicks off on April 6 will see 16 teams battle for honours. The teams have been divided into two zones (Northern and Southern zones) based on their geographical locations with the play-offs set for September 2018.

FreshPak sponsors of the National Women's League

FreshPak a subsidiary of Group Ndoum are now the headline sponsors of the National Women’s league, in a deal worth Gh? 500,000 for two years.

Chief Executive Officer of the company, Nana Fori-Owusu expressed his delight at his company’s partnership with women’s football, and referenced the exploits of the National U-17 and U-20 teams as an indication of how fast the women’s game is growing.

“When Mr. Ndoum told me of his intentions to sponsor the league, I readily accepted because women’s football is growing in Ghana. The great work done by the Black Princesses and the Black Maidens has put Ghana Women’s football on the map and this is the reason we agreed to sponsor the league,” he said.

Champions Ampem Darkoa will kick off their campaign against Kumasi Sports Academy at the Ohene Ameyaw Technical Park on Sunday.
