Ghanaian sprinter Janet Amponsah takes to the track in the women’s 200m heats on Tuesday, 8th August.
Amponsah will seek to redeem Ghana’s image in the ongoing Championships following the country’s dismal start to the event.
The 24-year-old who is 25th ranked in the world and is expected to be in the lanes for Ghana at 18:30 GMT, as she targets a spot in the semi-finals of the women’s 200m.
Notably, Ghana’s track and field trio, Emmanuel Dasor, Nadia Eke and Alex Amankwaah all failed to progress in the respective competitions as they bowed out of the competition last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s 4x100m women’s relay team will be in action on Saturday, 12th August.
