Freda Prempeh, Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), has said, the road to ensuring the hosting of the has not been easy, but remains poised to make the tournament a success.
This year's Africa's women football showpiece slated for November 17 to December 1, has been on tenterhooks since Ghana, was rewarded the hosting right in 2016, with some reports indicating CAF's displeasure with regards to preparations by Ghana.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Venue LOC at Cape Coast, one of the host cities, Mrs. Freda enumerated the hardwork of LOC in ensuring the smooth facilitation of hosting the mega football event.
"I must admit that, it hasn't been an easy road, with some challenges back and forth but by the Grace of God, we have been able to overcome the challenges and putting things together to see us through the tournament," she said.
Mrs. Prempeh, told the newly formed Cape Coast LOC, "you have a tall list of terms of reference, but let me highlight on a very important component of your responsibility, which includes the overall planning and coordination of the tournament activities in the venue cities.
"You must not to let the country down in the dispensation of their respective duties.
Meanwhile, Deputy Central Regional Minister, Mr. Thomas Adjei Baffoe would spearhead the activities in Cape Coast will receiving assistance from the National Sports Authority Director George Osafo Agyei and 13 other members.
