The Black Sharks of Ghana will take on Mozambique for the fifth-place match in the 2024 Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (AFCON), hosted in Egypt.
This follows the team’s inability to beat their opponents in the semi-finals of the competition, which led them to fight for fifth place.
Despite the exploits of attacker Alexander Adjei, who has been one of the best players in the tournament with eight goals in three matches, the team could not make it to the final.
The Black Sharks' game against Mozambique will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 13:30 GMT in Egypt.
The team fell 5-2 to Morocco, leaving their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages hanging by a thread.
Following a narrow 4-3 loss to Egypt in their opening game, the Ghanaian team needed a strong performance against Morocco to stay in contention.
However, despite their efforts, they couldn't match the North African side's intensity.
This result saw Ghana at the bottom of the group, with no points from two matches, but they eventually qualified after winning the final game.
