2024 Olympics: Benjamin Azamati and Rasheed Saminu miss out on men’s 100m final

Ghana's Benjamin Azamati and Abdul Rasheed Saminu were unable to advance to the final in the men’s 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Azamati finished in 9th place in Semifinal 1, while Saminu placed 7th in Semifinal 3.

Azamati clocked a time of 10.17 as Jamaica's Oblique Seville won the race with a time of 9.80.

2020 Olympic bronze medalist from the USA, Noah Lyles, placed 2nd with a time of 9.83 to make it to the finals of the men’s 100 meters.

For Saminu, the debutant clocked a time of 10.08 seconds, placing him seventh in the men’s 100-meter race.

Jamaica's Kishane Thompson secured first place with a time of 9.80 seconds, followed by American Fred Kerley, who finished with a time of 9.84 seconds.

Both athletes have qualified for the finals of the men’s 100-meter race.

Azamati ends his time in the individual events, but Saminu will represent Ghana in the men’s 200m on August 5, 2024.

Azamati will later join his teammates, led by Joseph Paul Amoah, in the relay team to compete in the 4x100 event on August 8, 2024.
