Ghanaian athlete Abdul-Rasheed Saminu did not advance to the finals of the 100 meters race at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games after finishing 7th in his semi-final heat.

In the third semi-final race held on August 4, 2024, Saminu clocked a time of 10.08 seconds, placing him seventh in the Men's 100 meters race.

Jamaica's Kishane Thompson secured first place with a time of 9.80 seconds, followed by American Fred Kerley, who finished with a time of 9.84 seconds.

Both athletes have qualified for the finals of the Men's 100 meters race.

This is disappointing news for Ghana, as Benjamin Azamati also missed out on the finals, finishing 9th with a time of 9.17 seconds in another semi-final race.
