Sudan assitant manager, Ignatius Osei Fosu, has sated that he was not happy to draw Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying draw in July 2024.

He explained that he was not pleased due to the propaganda that comes with drawing Ghana while Kwesi Appiah, who is currently a Ghana Football Association official, is the head coach of Sudan.

The former Medeama coach stated that call for Kwesi Appiah to step down from his GFA role after the draw did not surprised him.

"I didn't like the draw because of propaganda. I have my personal opinion about a lot of things. In Ghana governance, there are football administrators, there are owners of the club, there are referees, and there are coaches. So when you look at the Exco formation, all of these people can be Exco members. Now we have a coach who is an Exco member, know the propaganda will come. I wasn't surprised when they said he should resign. And that is why I didn't like the draw. Ghana is not in our World Cup qualifiers group, no one is complaining," he told Pure FM.

Ignatius noted that, Sudan on the other hand, are not worried about Kwesi Appiah's situation and are looking forward to meeting the Black Stars.

"They have not complained. They are happy that they are coming to Ghana being led by Kwesi Appiah. They love Ghana and they want to come."

Ghana will host Sudan on October 7, 2024 on matchday 3 of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers before visiting Sudan for the second leg on October 15.
