The head coach of Ghana’s male senior national team, Otto Addo has indicated that his team needs to improve to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Nicknamed the Black Stars, Ghana’s national team is without a win after two games in the qualifiers.

The Ghana national team lost 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and subsequently drew 1-1 with Niger on Monday September 9, 2024.

Speaking in a post-match interview, a disappointed coach Otto Addo admitted that his side faces a tough challenge.

He is confident the Black Stars can still qualify for the 2025 AFCON but believes the team must improve.

“So it's still possible but we have to improve, we have to improve much. We have to improve to use our chances and also to defend better in detail and to learn our lessons. Like I said, the goals are too cheap and we have to grow from this we have to learn from this. This is even more than a wake-up call,” Coach Otto Addo stressed.

The Black Stars of Ghana will resume the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON in October with two games against Sudan.
