2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Sudan arrive in Ghana for Black Stars clash

The first batch of the Sudanese contingent has arrived in Ghana for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The technical team, led by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah arrived in the West African country on Sunday night.

The rest of the Sudanese contingent are expected to fly from Saudi Arabia to Ghana by the close of today and will be led by Mr Abubakar Al-Mahy, who is the national team manager.

Sudan opened their campaign with a win against Niger before suffering a 2-1 defeat against Angola which leave them at the second spot with three points.

However, Kwesi Appiah is determined to lead his side to upset Ghana to enhance their chances of qualification.

Sudan will hold their final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening before the first leg game on Thursday at the same venue with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.

The return leg is scheduled for October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
