The head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo, has stated that the Black Stars were unlucky in their game against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifying match on October 10, 2024.
He explained that the team created numerous chances but were not lucky enough to score goals, which did not help his side despite the dominant performance.
The coach indicated that in the return leg against Sudan, the team will not have such hard luck in terms of finding the back of the net and would surely win the match.
“Sudan were very lucky today, that is all. Next time we meet in Libya, they won’t be lucky,” he said after the game as shared by JoySports on X.
Antoine Semenyo had a couple of chances but failed to utilize them despite the creativity the team had in the game.
Sudan, headed by coach Kwasi Appiah, played defensively for most of the game as their tactics worked to perfection, securing a draw.
Following the goalless draw, Ghana now has two points, lying in third position in Group F of the qualifiers as the team’s chances become slimmer.
Angola is leading the table with six points, followed by Sudan in second position with four points.
The Black Stars will face Sudan again in the return leg on October 15, 2025.
