The Black Satellites of Ghana have been placed in Group A of the 2024 West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, scheduled to take place from October 17 to 31, 2024.
Ghana's team, led by coach Desmond Offei, will compete against Togo, Niger, and Benin in their group.
The top two teams with the highest points will advance from the group stage to the semi-finals.
Group B includes Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast, with the best two teams expected to progress to the next stage.
The WAFU Zone B U-20 AFCON qualifiers draw was held in Ivory Coast on September 26, 2024.
The Black Satellites have not participated in the competition since 2021, when they won under coach Karim Zito, but failed to qualify for the next edition in Senegal in 2023.
Having won the U-20 AFCON four times, the Black Satellites aim to qualify for the main tournament, which will serve as the qualifiers for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
