Ghana coach Otto Addo has accepted responsibility for his side's poor first-half performance against the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Black Stars clashed with the Wild Beasts in their matchday four game of the 2026 World Cup qualifying games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday night.

Having gone ahead through Jordan Ayew, Ghana conceded two goals in the first half through Louis Mafouta to end the first half 2-1.

Despite securing a 4-3 win, the 43-year-old trainer highlighted that his players struggled to control the ball but insisted they deserved their hard-fought win.

"We had problems in the first half controlling the ball and finding solutions upfront. I take the blame," Addo told the press after the game.

"Maybe I wanted us to do too much though we had few days of training.

"I adjusted in the second half and we deserved to win," he added.

Ghana currently sits atop Group I after four games with nine points, three points ahead of Madagascar and Comoros, who have played a game less.
