Group I of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has taken an interesting turn following Ghana, Madagascar and Central African Republic's wins in matchday three of the qualifiers.
The Black Stars of Ghana influenced the situation in the group with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Mali in Bamako.
Goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew inspired the Black Stars to a much-needed 2-1 win.
In the other games played in Round 3 this week, Central African Republic defeated Chad to enhance their chances of qualification to the next mundial.
The last game in Group I for the third round between Madagascar and Comoros opened up the group even more.
Madagascar after beating Comoros 2-1 now occupies the second position in the group with six points.
Madagascar, Comoros and Ghana are in first, second and third respectively while tied with six points each.
Meanwhile, Mali and the Central African Republic also are on four points each.
Chad after failing to win any of the first three matches in the qualifies sits bottom of the table.
