The Baba Yara Sports Stadium will host the first Super Clash of the season, with Asante Kotoko playing at home against their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.

The encounter is scheduled for matchday 13, as revealed by the Ghana Football Association when they announced the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) fixtures on Monday.

Last season, Kotoko completed the double over Hearts of Oak, winning the first encounter 3-2 and then securing a 2-0 victory.

The first match, which was supposed to be a home game for Hearts of Oak, had to be played in Kumasi because the Accra Sports Stadium was unavailable, meaning both games last season took place in Kumasi.

This upcoming season, however, will see the return leg played on matchday 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Both teams, the most successful in the competition, endured a disappointing last season, with Hearts of Oak coming close to relegation.

Kotoko finished in sixth place. Both teams have invested heavily in the offseason, signing several players while parting ways with others.

The new season will start on September 6, 2024, and end on Sunday, June 8, 2025. It will consist of 34 weekends with no official midweek matchdays, a policy aimed at lessening the travel burden on clubs.

The league will take a one-week break leading up to December 7, 2024, national elections.
