38,000 tickets earmarked for Kotoko-Hearts clash

Sunday’s match-day 7 epic clash of the 2012/13 Glo Premier League between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will have not more than 38,000 spectators at the 40,000 capacity Baba Yara Stadium, footy-Ghana.com can confirm.

This was decided at the first stakeholders meeting held in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Of the total 38,000 earmarked for Sunday’s clash, the popular stands consisting of both the red and green seats which are located behind both goal posts will have a total of 24,000 tickets available for sale (i.e. Red seats – 12,500 and Green seats – 11,500 tickets). The tickets at these stands will go for GH¢ 4 ($2.12).

The yellow seated section of the stands, popularly known as centre line goes for GH¢7 ($3.7) and would have 9,500 tickets available for sale.

All the VIP sections will have 4,500 tickets and will go for GH¢20 ($10.6) each.

On duty on Sunday will be 80 personnel each from the Red Cross Society and St. John’s Ambulance Service respectively; 25 personnel from the National Ambulance Service with four vans and 7 from the National Disaster Mobilization Organization (NADMO).

Also there will be 26 medical personnel from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital made up of 10 doctors, 12 nurses and other auxiliary staff with four ambulance vans as well.

The Kotoko-Hearts game will have 380 men from the Ghana Police force and 90 fire service men. The army on stand-by will be 32 men while 25 men will come from the BNI, 45 cadets and 60 National Sports Authority Staff-60 plus unspecified number from the National security.

There will be huge security presence and blocks at Brigina Spot, It’s my Kitchen Restaurant and the junction to the Stadium opposite the Main gates. Limited media accreditation will be issued considering affiliates as a check on the huge number of media presence.

Gates will be opened to spectators at 10am on Sunday.
