Daniel Macaulay Managing Director of McDan Group has promised to send the top four players at the just ended Tennis Championship to Europe for special training as part of Ghana’s preparations for the Davies Cup.
The four comprise the winners and ruuner-ups of the 2014 McDan Open. They are Jeff Bagerbaseh, Francisca Nyarko, George Darko and Yvonne Bruce Tagoe. According to Mr. Macaulay, the players have proved to be tough, strong, determined and ready to play at top level so he will support them to fulfill their dreams of playing Tennis with international players.
He said there are many hidden talents in Ghana and all it needs to expose them is to organize tournaments and events for everyone to come and show his or her skills..
He was impressed with the standard of play during the McDan Tennis Open and hoped to organize the event twice or three times in a year for the next five years.
In another development, IsmailaLamptey, MD of Ismaila Sports Shop and local representative of Babolar Tennis equipment has also promised to support the Ghana Tennis Federation with kits for the players who do very well at tournaments.
Babolar Tennis equipment were awarded to the players who exceled at the McDan Open and Coach Christian Churcher, leading Tennis Coach in Ghan commended then because the major worry of most players is equipment.
