Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, has launched the 4th edition of the Ghana Sports Fans Awards, and announced the nominees for this year.

Aimed at recognizing and celebrating sports personalities and officials who have excelled in various sporting disciplines in the year under review, this year’s event is slated to take place on Monday, December 26, 2016.

The general public can vote by going on www.happyghana.com, www.etvghana.com, www.yfmghana.com or by filling out nomination forms available at Happy FM, Asylum Down.

During the launch ceremony at the studious of Happy FM, DJ Advicer, Head of Events of Happy FM, said, “This is one of the important events in the Ghanaian sports industry and we are very happy as a station to bring excitement and fun to sports fans and personalities who are anxiously awaiting this year’s ceremony.’’ As a powerhouse in sports broadcasting in Ghana, we are committed to the promotion of sports and we believe it is very important to award personalities in the industry who have distinguished themselves, he added.

Nominees for the 2016 Ghana Sports Fans Awards are Yahaya Mohammed, Kwasi Donsu, Amos Frimpong, Inusah Musah, Latif Blessing for GPL Player of the Year; Richard Commey, Isaac Dogbe, Emmanuel Tagoe for Boxer of the Year; Football, Cricket, Weightlifting, Hockey for Sports Discipline of the Year; Alex Asante, Joyce Asante, Daniel Kenez, Hussien Akueteh Addy for Administrator of the Year; Enos Adepah, Evans Adotey, Francis Bakiweyem, Carl Pierce for Sports Coach of the Year.

Other categories are Sandra Owusu Ansah (Maidens) Gifty Acheampong (Maidens), Jane Ayieyam (Princesses), Cynthia Adobea (Princesses), Women Footballer of the Year; Dede Ayew, Emmanuel Banahene, Solomon Asante, Alfred Duncan, Foreign Footballer of the Year; Kwasi Nyantakyi, Ref J.O Lamptey, Ben Nunu Mensah, Anthony Baffoe, Sports Personality of the Year. Other special awards include Unsung Hero and Post-Humous awards
