Accra, March 23, GNA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports has planned a whopping 662,000 US Dollars for the successful organization of this weekend's 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the Black Stars of Ghana and Benin.
The budget is inclusive all financial issues ranging from accommodation, transportation and bonus among others related to the crucial Group D clash.
Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister of Youth and Sports said that preparations for the game are far advanced adding that fans will be assured of an incident-free match. Alhaji Mohammed-Mubarak assured that there will be rigorous security at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi which is expected to attract a huge crowd of football fans.
The Sports Minister added that his outfit is committed to the Black Stars' campaign for the first ever Mundial to be staged on the African soil in 2010 in South Africa.
"We will do everything humanly possible to ensure that Black Stars qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
"The journey begins on Sunday and I entreat all to rally behind the team to make the dream possible."
The Stars will next play the Eagles of Mali on June 7 in Bamako before trekking to Omdurman to face the Sudanese Desert Hawks. Only the group winner qualifies for the Mundial whilst the best three qualify for the Angola 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
