$71,000 financial Loss to the state

.... GFA Pays Out $71,000 To Burkhard Ziese

The Ghana Football Association has finally paid former Black Stars coach Burkhard Ziese a sum of $71,000.
The amount is compensation due the German trainer for wrongful dismissal in 2003.
FIFA?s Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) ordered the Ghana Football Association to pay the money to Burkhard Ziese with an interest rate of five per cent per annum from September 6, 2003.
The football association reportedly managed to beat last Friday?s deadline for the payment of the money after several reminders from FIFA.
Ziese was relieved of his duties by the GFA in 2003 following a fallout.
Former chairman of the FA, Ben Koufie, at the time cited incompetence and non-performance, among others, for the dismissal of Burkhard, challenging the controversial German to contest his dismissal anywhere in the world.
Burkhard now handles the Malawi national team.
