80 Km Cape Coast-Takoradi Walk

The VISCO WALKING CLUB is organizing an 80 km Walk from Cape Coast in the Central region to Takoradi in the Western region on Saturdau beginning at 6am. Prompt.

The Walk will meander through the ancient town of Elmina, Komenda, Beposo, Inchaban, Sekondi before touching base at Takoradi. The Walk is part of a preparatory programme to get its walkers in pretty good shape in anticipation of upcoming competitions.

Chief among the top-rate competitions is the All-Africa Games where Vincent Asumang won bronze in 1999 in South Africa. The Club is therefore focused on preparing adequately to better the bronze medal won by Ghana, so as to showcase to the world the level of its preparedness.

Among the tall list of walkers expected to take part in the competition are Atta Bright and Prince Frimpong of Ashanti, Yaw Fordjour, John Segbe, Musa Muda, Andrew Asante all of Greater Accra, Benjamin Annan, Ekow Rambo, Robert Anim, Joseph Bello, and Francis Halm of the Central region.

The rest are Moses Shirley, Thomas Quaicoe, and Jeandy Kwofie also of the Western region, and Ahmed Tijani of the Ghana Navy. Meanwhile, Vincent Asumang of the Ghana National Fire Service has pulled out because of an injury he sustained in training.
