AC Milan coach praises Micheal Essien in Verona win

AC Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi hailed the performance of Michael Essien in his side’s 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Essien got to start his first match of the season with Nigel de Jong suspension and he gelled in the middle alongside side compatriot Sulley Muntari.

The former Chelsea man has been restricted to only four appearances due to injuries.

But the Ghana international gave a good account of himself and earned the praise of his head coach.

“Today we are very happy because it’s a good result without several important players. In the dressing room I wanted to compliment Essien, who hasn’t played much, but was exemplary,” Inzaghi said.
