AC Milan to fine Muntari for injuring team-mate Ginkel in training

AC Milan are pondering a huge fine on their Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari for inflicting a serious injury on team-mate Marco Van Ginkel during training yesterday.

Top Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Saturday that the Serie A side are considering the fine on the Ghana star which has ruled the key player out of action for about 45 days.

AC Milan thought Muntari’s tackle on the Dutchman was absolutely avoidable and are angry with him, it’s reported.

The Rossoneri confirmed that Van Ginkel picked up an ankle injury in training (Friday) yesterday (with ligament damage).

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutchman will miss a month and a half at the very least before returning to the pitch.

It is reported that there is a lot of anger at the club towards Muntari who in their eyes committed a harsh and avoidable tackle, one that doesn’t belong to the training ground.

Gazzetta claims that Milan could take disciplinary actions against Muntari and he could be facing a hefty fine for this tackle.

It’s also possible that Filippo Inzaghi will put Muntari on the bench against Napoli (the Ghana man is/was likely to start) with Andrea Poli starting instead.
