AC Milan to offload Essien

Ghana’s top midfielder and former Chelsea player Michael Essien will be parting with Italian giants AC Milan in the January transfer window, a newspaper in Italy has reported.

According to Italian newspaper, Tuttospot, the Ghanaian will be axed by the AC Milan coaching crew for failing to live up to expectation since joining the club.

It is said that Essien has not performed to the expectations of the club since his arrival from Chelsea FC and thus Milan is ready to let him go for free.

Reports have been circulating that Essien might be joining Major League Soccer as soon as the transfer window opens.

Essien earns €3 million per season playing at San Siro. Since Essien’s transfer from Chelsea he has made just 12 appearances for Milan.
