Black Stars coach Avram Grant has shown respect to the Cranes by terming them as a tough team.
The two nations open group D of the 2017 Africa Nations Cup at Port Gentil with each looking for a perfect start to the tournament.

Grant, whose has overseen three games against Uganda, drawing twice and winning none told the press.
“They’re a tough team, it’s not easy to play against them – and especially in Ghana we had difficulties in the last games. But we are not looking at the past too much; we are learning from the past but living in the present”, he told pressmen.

“In the last Nations Cup we were very close – 22 penalties and we were the better side. But that is for memories – now we want to achieve something”, Grant added.
Ghana lost out to Ivory Coast at the last edition on penalties and the former Chelsea manager says that’s in the past, they want to achieve something.

The Black Stars have four African titles but haven’t won the competition since 1982, four years after they had beaten Uganda in 1978 to win their third title.

Besides Uganda, Ghana will have to face seven time African champions Egypt and 1972 finalists Mali in group D.
