Ghana defender has re-affirmed the team’s desire to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The four-time winners are seeking to end the country’s 37-year wait for a title, having last won the trophy in 1982.

Despite a stuttering start to their campaign, Kwesi Appiah’s side finished top of Group F after beating Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after playing a starring role in the win, the FC Reims full back reassured Ghanaians that the aim is to win the competition.

“I think we started slowly but we grew into the game and brought some urgency in the second half and we won,” Baba said.

“This win is going to boost our morale ahead of our next game.

“Generally, I did well but the team supported me.

“This is my third AFCON and it’s always been the same. Our ambition is to win the tournament”

Ghana face Tunisia on Monday, July 8 in the round of 16 at the Ismailia Stadium.
