Los Angeles Galaxy forward Joseph Paintsil has pulled out of Ghana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger in Morocco.

The Black Stars forward failed to travel with the team to Morocco due to passport issues and will now miss the game against Niger.

The US-based forward was left out of the squad to sort out his passport situation before returning to California for Major League Soccer.

"Twenty-three players made the trip after Joseph Paintsil pulled out due to passport issues. The Los Angeles Galaxy forward has been left in Accra to sort out his passport issues before returning to the United States to join his club," wrote the FA, confirming Paintsil's withdrawal.

Paintsil came on late in the defeat to Angola in Kumasi last Thursday, his first game for the Black Stars since the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Black Stars will be hoping to recover from the defeat to Angola when they face the Menas of Niger on Monday at the RS Berkane Stadium.
