AFCON: We won't take 'quality' Black Stars for granted – Cameroon deputy coach

The Assistant Coach of Cameroon's national football team, Jean Alain Boumsong, has said the impending encounter with the Black Stars of Ghana will be a tricky one for the Indomitable Lions.

He told ClassSports in an interview that Cameroon will not underrate the Black Stars just because they drew 2 – 2 with the Squirrels of Benin.

The Indomitable Lions defeated Guinea Bissau by two quick goals in the second half of their first game putting them top of Group F.

For the former Auxerre and Newcastle defender, the Ghanaian side could cause problems for anybody on any day.

“I have seen these Ghanaian players over a period and I do not think we would take the game for granted because they drew with Benin. They are a very good side and can cause you all kinds of problems. Even with ten players, they still gave Benin a lot to think about. That tells you a lot about their quality.

“They have very good players who play for top clubs and have the experience of playing in the Cup of Nations a number of times. I do not think we can overlook all that,” he told ClassSports Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang in Ismailia, Egypt.

The Black Stars will lock horns with the Indomitable Lions on Saturday, 29 June 2019.
